Immersive Data World

I have been immersed in the data world for close to 4 decades.  I know about 40 companies in the space.  I find it interesting that 6 have just sold out to Private Equity.  Most of these arrangements were forced by under-performing assets.  Where you think data would be king in this brave new world of Big Data, the reality is that most of these six sources offer standalone uses that need to be integrated into some greater whole.  I think this is the canary in the coal mine.  Nobody will value silo data anymore.  What will replace it will be connector strategies to get at data that can easily be made into insights and then deployed.
